When you are shopping for a commercial cleaning company there are a couple of things that you could look for that would benefit you greatly. Most janitorial services that are in existence won’t do any quality control. Once they have you locked into a contract it is likely that no one who really cares will ever visit your building again. What they will do is hire someone else to do the cleaning for them. Then they will just allow the people they hire to have free reign without ever doing any real quality control checkups on them. The way they do quality control is by waiting for you, the customer, to complain about things that aren’t getting done. Or, if it does get done it doesn’t get done satisfactorily. Another thing you may want to think real hard about is signing a contract. The longer the contract the bigger your risk is of acquiring a company that has no real incentive to do a quality job for you. The reason is because once you sign that contract you are locked into an obligation to keep that company around until the contract expires. Why would they make you sign a contract if they intended to perform high quality services for you?
If you can find a company that doesn’t require you to sign a contract what you are really getting is a company whose worth ethic is their contract. They know that if they don’t do a great job for you then you won’t keep them around very long. My experience with companies who don’t have contracts is that they work their tails off to make sure that they still have their job each month.
Now I don’t have any idea whether or not you will actually take heed of my advice, but I can tell you that in my opinion you would be doing yourself a great disservice if you don’t. The larger the company is that you hire, the less interest they are going to have in you.
